Aceh – Indonesia, The Aceh PSSI Ordinary Congress for the election of the Chairman for the 2026-2030 period was officially opened in Sigli, Pidie Regency, on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The Aceh Provincial Government hopes the congress will proceed democratically, orderly, transparently, and prioritize unity for the advancement of Acehnese football.
The opening of the Aceh PSSI congress was performed by the Head of the Aceh Youth and Sports Office (Kadispora), T Banta Nuzullah, representing the Vice Governor of Aceh, Fadhullah.
The congress marks an important momentum for Aceh PSSI in determining the organization’s leadership direction while strengthening a shared commitment to advance football in the Land of Rencong.
In the Vice Governor of Aceh’s speech read by the Head of the Aceh Kadispora, the Aceh Provincial Government expressed its appreciation to Aceh PSSI for hosting the congress as part of the organizational process and football development in Aceh.
The Aceh Provincial Government hopes that the entire series of congress events can take place democratically, orderly, in a spirit of sportsmanship, transparently, and by prioritizing the spirit of brotherhood. Differences in choices and views within the organization are natural, but unity and the interest of advancing Acehnese football must remain the priority.
“Once the entire process is complete, what we must put forward is the greater interest, which is the progress of football in Aceh,” said the Vice Governor of Aceh in the remarks read by the Head of the Aceh Kadispora.
The Vice Governor of Aceh also emphasized that football is not merely a sport, but plays a strategic role in building character, discipline, cooperation, and sportsmanship among the younger generation, while opening opportunities for the emergence of high-achieving athletes.
Therefore, the Aceh PSSI management for the 2026-2030 period is expected to deliver better organizational governance, strengthen early-age and youth football development, enhance competition quality, and expand opportunities for local talents to grow.
According to him, football development must be carried out sustainably and not solely oriented toward short-term results. Strengthening the football ecosystem needs to start from football academies, clubs, youth competitions, and improving the quality of coaches and referees, to developing athletes toward the national level.
Aceh is considered to have abundant football talent that needs to be scouted, nurtured, and provided space to grow. To achieve this, synergy between Aceh PSSI, Aceh KONI, local government, clubs, schools, the educational sector, the business community, and the public is vital.
The Aceh Provincial Government also hopes that whoever leads the 2026-2030 term can fulfill their responsibilities effectively, embrace all football elements, and make the interests of Acehnese football a shared priority.
The opening of the congress was also attended by a representative of the Central PSSI Executive Committee, Juli Rahman; Deputy Speaker of the Aceh DPR, Saifuddin Muhammad; Chairman of the Aceh DPR Legislative Body, Irfansyah; the Pidie Police Chief represented by the Deputy Police Chief; the Pidie Military District Commander; members of the Pidie DPRK; and representatives of the Regent of Pidie.
The 2026-2030 Aceh PSSI Ordinary Congress in Sigli is expected to produce leadership and organizational decisions that can reinforce unity, improve development quality, and drive the future progress of Acehnese football.
