Aceh – Indonesia, The Working Group of Junior High School Principals (MKKS) across South Aceh held a gathering and discussion with the Head of the South Aceh Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud), M. Najur, in Ujong Batee, Pasie Raja District, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The event was attended by 64 junior high school principals from various regions in South Aceh, ranging from West Labuhanhaji to East Trumon. This meeting served as a key moment for principals to strengthen synergy with the newly appointed head of the department, who was inaugurated a few weeks ago.
The Chairman of MKKS South Aceh, Fatayuddin, stated that the event was organized through the joint cooperation of all junior high school principals across South Aceh.
According to him, the principals wished to meet face-to-face and directly discuss various issues faced in managing education with M. Najur.
“The junior high school principals wanted to meet and discuss directly with the Head of the Office, allowing this relaxed occasion to be used to express long-standing concerns,” said Fatayuddin, Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Meanwhile, the Head of the South Aceh Disdikbud, M. Najur, urged all junior high school principals to actively support the local government’s efforts to enhance the quality of education.
“I hope all of you can assist us in ensuring the success of quality education in South Aceh,” M. Najur stated.
He mentioned that before meeting with the school principals, his office had also held a gathering and discussion session with supervising inspectors.
During that meeting, he noted, four key points were brought into focus: attendance tracking, the School-Level Curriculum (KSP), the Regional Education Quality Assurance Team (TPMPD), and the implementation of the e-Rapor application.
During the Q&A session, several principals raised various challenges encountered during the implementation of the New Student Admission System (SPMB).
One of the most highlighted issues was the application of the zoning system. Several principals urged the Disdikbud to enforce strict regulations to prevent schools from accepting students from outside designated zoning areas.
The Principal of SMP Negeri 4 Meukek, Resijan, expressed hope that the Disdikbud would strictly supervise schools that admit students from other schools’ zones.
A similar sentiment was echoed by the Principal of SMP Negeri 5 North Kluet, Nuriah. She hopes M. Najur’s leadership will bring firm enforcement regarding SPMB zoning regulations.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMP Negeri 1 Labuhanhaji, Irmawanida, pointed out that SPMB issues do not only occur between junior high schools.
According to her, if junior high schools strictly enforce zoning rules, another consequence arises: prospective students might choose to enroll in State Islamic Junior High Schools (MTsN) instead.
“This SPMB issue is not just about junior high schools taking students outside their zones. If we enforce this strictly, there is another consequence—the students might enroll in MTsN instead,” she explained.
Responding to the matter, M. Najur stated that his office would soon establish communication with the South Aceh Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) Office.
This dialogue is expected to build a mutual understanding or partnership regarding the execution of SPMB, allowing a joint solution for new student admissions between schools under Disdikbud and Islamic madrasahs.
Additionally, M. Najur shared plans to introduce a dedicated application for SPMB implementation in South Aceh.
He anticipates that the platform will streamline the admission process while preventing students from attending schools outside their designated zoning areas.
“Hopefully, South Aceh will have the SPMB application ready this year as part of our efforts to ensure no students are admitted from outside their assigned zones,” he said. (Adv)
