Aceh – Indonesia, Pidie Jaya DPRK member Irsalil Siddiq highlighted the issue of agricultural rice fields that have not been rehabilitated following the disaster. According to him, this problem must be resolved, and the relevant technical agency should not ignore it for the well-being of the community.
He made these remarks in Meureudu.
He stated that if the issue is not handled properly, it could lead to systemic impacts, namely the loss of livelihoods for the community and a greater impact by generating poverty issues.
Popularitas.com personally visited several agricultural areas in various locations that used to be the livelihood of the community. Now, the area that was once green with paddy plants has turned into thickets and overgrown with shrubs.ย
This condition is visible in the Meurah Dua region or along the Trienggadeng-Samalangan bypass, specifically around Gampong Beuringen.
As is widely known, the flash flood disaster that struck Pidie Jaya on November 26, 2025, not only devastated residential areas, but also caused damage to productive agricultural land, ranging from heavy, minor, to moderate damage.
Although the disaster occurred about 10 months ago, ironically, the heavily damaged rice fields, which have been a primary source of food and income for the local community, remain unaddressed.
For this reason, Irsalil urged the Agriculture Agency to prioritize and accelerate the rehabilitation of disaster-damaged agricultural land. โEspecially agricultural land with severe damage that has not been addressed yet,โ Irsalil demanded.
The DPRK member also reminded the Agriculture Agency to map out the severity levels, total area, and locations of agricultural land damaged by the disaster.
