Aceh – Indonesia, Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir affirmed his commitment to prioritizing national interests and strengthening Indonesia’s role in maintaining stability and peace, both regionally and globally.
He made these remarks after being sworn in by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (1/10).
βOf course, we will continue to prioritize matters of national interest,β said Arrmanatha.
In addition to prioritizing national interests, he emphasized the importance of Indonesia’s contribution to maintaining regional stability and international peace. According to him, Indonesia’s active role is required to foster security and strengthen multilateral cooperation.
This commitment, Arrmanatha added, is also reflected in Indonesia’s plan to run once again for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2029β2030 term.
βThis demonstrates once again Indonesia’s readiness to play an active role in maintaining peace and security, as well as advancing multilateralism,β he said.
Arrmanatha also emphasized that Indonesia’s foreign policy has continuity as it is built upon clear principles and rules. Consequently, changes in leadership at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not alter the core foundation of Indonesia’s foreign policy.
βWe are also grateful that Indonesia’s foreign policy has always been consistent. So, whoever serves as Foreign Minister has a clear reference, which is the law,β he stated.
He added that the independent and active foreign policy principle remains Indonesia’s guiding light in conducting relations with other nations and contributing to various international issues.
βOur foreign policy is also clear, independent and active, as frequently stated by the President (Prabowo Subianto),β Arrmanatha said.(rao)
