Aceh – Indonesia, The 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, officially concluded on Sunday (10/4/2026). China emerged as the overall champion after topping the final medal tally.

China collected 169 gold, 89 silver, and 83 bronze medals. Japan finished in second place with 83 gold, 95 silver, and 91 bronze medals, followed by South Korea with 39 gold, 43 silver, and 68 bronze.

Meanwhile, Indonesia finished the 2026 Asian Games in 16th position with a total of five gold, 11 silver, and 23 bronze medals.

Indonesia’s five gold medals came from badminton, weightlifting, sport climbing, and archery. In badminton, Indonesia secured two gold medals from the men’s team event and the men’s doubles pair, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin.

Rahmat Erwin Abdullah then claimed a gold medal in the men’s 75 kg weightlifting event. The next gold was delivered by Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi in the women’s speed sport climbing. Meanwhile, Nurisa Dian Ashrifah added to Indonesia’s gold tally in the women’s individual compound archery event.

With five gold, 11 silver, and 23 bronze medals, Indonesia placed as the third-highest Southeast Asian nation, behind Thailand in seventh place and Malaysia in 11th.
