Aceh – Indonesia, Mayor of Lhokseumawe, Sayuti Abubakar, rotated 23 officials within the Lhokseumawe City Government on Friday, October 9, 2026. During the inauguration, Yuswardi, who previously served as Head of the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud), was entrusted to lead the Community Empowerment and Gampong Office (DMPG).
In addition to Yuswardi, Bukhari was assigned a new role as Head of the Environmental Office. Previously, he served as the Mayor’s Expert Staff for Government, Law, and Politics.
The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony included senior executive officers, administrators, and supervisors.
For administrator positions, Mahrul was inaugurated as Head of the Legal Division of the Lhokseumawe Regional Secretariat, Maskur as Head of the ASN Procurement and Performance Assessment Division at BKPSDM, and Tri Hariyadi Mulyono as Head of the Goods and Services Procurement Division of the Regional Secretariat.
Meanwhile, Afriani was appointed Secretary of DMPG, Khennita Zulqavia as Head of the Regional Development Planning, Control, and Evaluation Division at Bappeda, and Nelvia Surimeina as Secretary of the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SME Office.
Darwati was sworn in as Secretary of the Muara Dua Sub-district, Fazlurrahman as Head of the Industrial Division at the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SME Office, and Fauzi as Head of the Basic Education Development Division at Disdikbud.
Other officials receiving new assignments include Abdul Fathah as Head of the Cultural Division at Disdikbud, Elfina Zuriani as Secretary of the Transportation Office, Ghufran Nuristan as Head of the Trade Division at the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SME Office, Hermawan as Head of the Research and Development Division at Bappeda, and Zulfikar Syarif as Head of the Environmental Structuring, Protection, and Management Division at the Environmental Office.
Apart from those names, eight supervisory officials were also inaugurated during this rotation agenda.
Following the inauguration, Sayuti emphasized that structural changes must be accompanied by increased discipline, integrity, and the quality of public service. He urged all officials and civil servants (ASN) to carry out their duties professionally and adhere to official working hours.
“No more drinking coffee during working hours. Focus on public services and complete your tasks on time,” Sayuti told AJNN.
According to Sayuti, the reassignment and appointment of officials were based on official application proposals submitted to the mayor. This mechanism, he explained, is intended to align officials’ qualifications with the organizational needs of the Lhokseumawe City Government.
He also announced that a follow-up inauguration is planned for next month. Civil servants interested in specific positions are welcome to submit job proposals accompanied by recommendations from the heads of regional apparatus organizations (OPD).
Sayuti stressed that official placements are not based on personal relationships or kinship.
“The inauguration of officials within the Lhokseumawe City Government has never involved nepotism, let alone personal closeness. There are no elements of family ties or relatives,” he stated.***
