Aceh – Indonesia, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Aceh Province recorded Aceh’s annual inflation (year-on-year/y-on-y) reaching 5.03 percent in September 2026. This figure marks an increase from August 2026, which stood at 4.86 percent.

Based on data from BPS Aceh, the region’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September 2026 reached 116.62. Meanwhile, month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation was recorded at 0.36 percent, and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation reached 1.94 percent.

Head of BPS Aceh Province Agus Andria previously explained that the rise in annual inflation was driven by price increases across several expenditure groups.

“Year-on-year inflation occurred due to price increases indicated across these expenditure groups,” he said.

In September 2026, the food service and beverage/restaurant group recorded the highest annual inflation rate at 12.17 percent, contributing 1.28 percent to Aceh’s overall inflation.

Other groups experiencing price hikes included personal care and other services at 7.90 percent, transportation at 5.94 percent, food, beverages, and tobacco at 5.02 percent, household furnishings, equipment, and routine maintenance at 4.23 percent, as well as housing, water, electricity, gas, and household fuels at 3.25 percent.

BPS noted several dominant commodities contributing to annual inflation, including rice, prepared rice with side dishes, gold jewelry, gasoline, broiler chicken meat, machine-made clove cigarettes (SKM), tomatoes, cooking oil, household fuels, and cement.

Within the food, beverages, and tobacco group, rice made the largest contribution to annual inflation at 0.62 percent, followed by broiler chicken meat at 0.27 percent and SKM at 0.20 percent. Overall, this group contributed 1.92 percent to Aceh’s inflation.

Meanwhile, the transportation group recorded an annual inflation rate of 5.94 percent, contributing 0.59 percent. Gasoline was the primary contributor at 0.29 percent, followed by air transport at 0.07 percent.

Regionally, Central Aceh Regency registered the highest annual inflation at 5.86 percent, followed by Aceh Tamiang at 5.79 percent. Banda Aceh posted 4.69 percent and Lhokseumawe recorded 4.59 percent. The lowest inflation rate was observed in Meulaboh at 3.61 percent.

Consequently, the surge in Aceh’s inflation in September was primarily reflected in the high rate of the food service and beverage/restaurant group, which accounted for a 1.28 percent contribution to the province’s annual inflation. []
