Aceh – Indonesia, The Aceh Regional Police, alongside the National Narcotics Agency (BNN RI) and relevant stakeholders, continue to strengthen synergy in managing areas vulnerable to illicit crops. These efforts are being carried out through prevention, education, and alternative economic development to encourage local communities to transition to productive activities.
This commitment emerged during the Stakeholder Program Synergy Work Conference on Illicit Crop Vulnerable Areas in Aceh Besar, held at the Aceh Province Teacher and Educational Personnel Hall (BGTK), Lubuk Sukon, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency, Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Deputy Chief of Aceh Police, Brigadier General Ari Wahyu Widodo, attended the meeting alongside BNN RI Deputy for Community Empowerment, Inspector General Dr. Aldrin MP Hutabarat, Head of Aceh Provincial BNN, Brigadier General Dedy Tabrani, Aceh Besar Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Chairul Ikhsan, Deputy Regent of Aceh Besar, Drs. Syukri A. Jalil, representatives from Kodim 0101/KBA, heads of regency BNN offices across Aceh, and several relevant Aceh Besar regional agency heads.
Head of Public Relations for Aceh Police, Senior Commissioner Joko Krisdiyanto, stated that the issue of illicit crops is not merely a matter of law enforcement, but also encompasses public safety, community health, social resilience, the economy, education, and welfare. Therefore, addressing it requires an integrated approach that also considers the future of the younger generation.
“The issue of illicit crops cannot be viewed solely from a law enforcement perspective. It is closely tied to security, public health, social resilience, the economy, education, community welfare, and the future of our youth,” Joko said in his statement, Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
According to Joko, the Aceh Police are committed to continuously strengthening collaboration with various parties to enhance prevention and management efforts in areas vulnerable to illicit crops. The approach will emphasize humanistic, measured, and sustainable aspects.
“We are ready to synergize. The management must also be accompanied by economic empowerment, improved education, stronger family resilience, and the provision of legal and sustainable alternative livelihoods. We must also build a shared awareness that protecting the environment and society from the threat of illicit crops is a collective responsibility,” Joko added.
Meanwhile, BNN RI Deputy for Community Empowerment, Inspector General Dr. Aldrin MP Hutabarat, stated that stakeholder synergy is a crucial factor in ensuring that the management of vulnerable areas does not occur in isolation. Through targeted collaboration, these efforts are expected to drive sustainable changes in the social and economic lives of the community.
Aldrin also expressed appreciation to all parties who have demonstrated concern and contributed to protecting the public, particularly the younger generation, from the dangers of narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking.
He expressed hope that the work conference would reinforce a unified perception while generating concrete, integrated steps to rehabilitate illicit crop vulnerable areas in Aceh Besar.
“Hopefully, this work conference will further strengthen the synergy among all national elements to align our vision and move forward together,” he concluded.(rao)
