Aceh – Indonesia, Acting (Plt) Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Aceh, Taufik, has warned the public and various parties to beware of a fake WhatsApp number impersonating him. The number could potentially be used to commit fraud by contacting several parties.

He delivered the warning directly, emphasizing that the WhatsApp number 0813-3295-244, featuring a profile picture using his identity, does not belong to him.

“If anyone calls using this number and profile while claiming to be me, Taufik, please ignore it because it is not my number,” Taufik clarified.

He also requested that this information be shared with colleagues, relatives, and other parties to prevent them from falling victim to identity misuse.

Taufik urged the public not to respond to any requests from the number, especially those involving money, wire transfers, or personal information under his name.

The public is also expected to verify information through official communication channels if they receive suspicious messages or calls claiming to be from the Acting Aceh Regional Secretary.

This clarification was issued as a precautionary measure so that the public and various stakeholders remain vigilant against potential scams exploiting the name and photo of a government official.[]
