Aceh – Indonesia, The series of events commemorating the 27th Anniversary of Bireuen Regency in 2026 was officially opened at the Bireuen Regent’s Hall on Saturday (3/10).
Carrying the theme “Bireuen Bershalawat”, the series of anniversary activities will run until October 12, 2026, involving various elements of society.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman and members of the Bireuen DPRK, elements of the Forkopimda, the Commander of Yonif 113/Jaya Sakti, the Head of TP-PKK, the Head of BKMT, the Head of MPA, officials within the Bireuen Regency Government, the Head of DWP, and community leaders.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Bireuen Regency’s 27th Anniversary, Ir Fadli Amir ST MT, stated in his report that various activities have been prepared to enliven Bireuen Regency’s anniversary, ranging from sports, arts and culture, literacy, MSMEs, culinary events, traditional games, to religious activities.
Among these are the Inter-District Regent Cup Football Championship, MSME and culinary exhibitions, betel vine arranging creativity competitions, the “Alert Father” fried rice cooking competition, traditional games, PAUD-level azan competitions, coloring and painting, traditional dances, inter-district meurukon, literacy events, Toet Beude, a fun walk, the anniversary ceremony, Maulid celebrations, as well as marawis, hadrah, and religious lectures.
Fadli mentioned that all series of activities are carried out through committee coordination with regional apparatuses and various stakeholders, prioritizing community participation, order, and the spirit of togetherness.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Bireuen Regency Government, Forkopimda, SKPK, district administrations, business sector, sponsors, committee members, and the entire community who supported the execution of the 27th Anniversary.
Meanwhile, the Head of TP-PKK, Head of Dekranasda, PAUD Ambassador, and Literacy Ambassador of Bireuen Regency, Ny Sadriah Mukhlis, stated that the anniversary events serve not only as a celebration, but also as a space to develop public creativity, strengthen family resilience, and preserve local customs and culture.
According to her, the betel vine arranging or susun ranup competition is an effort to maintain Acehnese traditions. Meanwhile, the “Alert Father” fried rice cooking competition is expected to encourage fatherly involvement in the family while supporting stunting prevention efforts.
Coloring, painting, dance, traditional games, and literacy activities are also aimed at tapping into children’s creativity. Meanwhile, the MSME and culinary exhibitions serve as a platform to promote local products while supporting the community’s economy.
Sadriah also invited women to continue playing an active role in regional development. She emphasized that all competitions should be conducted honestly, objectively, and transparently.
Meanwhile, the Vice Regent of Bireuen, Ir Razuardi MT, said that the 27th Anniversary commemoration is a momentum to give thanks for Bireuen Regency’s journey, reflect, and reinforce mutual commitment in building the region.
He considered that the theme “Bireuen Bershalawat” holds an important meaning so that development is not only oriented toward physical and economic progress, but also strengthens religious, customary, cultural values, and social care.
Razuardi also called on the entire community to rise together after facing the floods and landslides that hit several areas.
“Roads and bridges may be damaged by disasters, but our bridge of brotherhood must never be broken,” he stated.
He invited the community to make the entire series of the 27th Anniversary events a success, support the growth of MSMEs, nurture the creativity of the younger generation, and preserve local culture. (akh)
