Aceh – Indonesia, The Aceh Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has officially inaugurated two new heads for the Banda Aceh and Langsa City BNN offices.
Police Senior Commissioner Assistant (AKBP) Muhammad Yanis, S.I.K., M.H., now leads the Banda Aceh City BNN, while Police Commissioner (Kompol) Ir. Khairinnas, S.T., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., M.T., M.I.K., M.Psi., C.P.H.R., I.P.M. serves as the Head of the Langsa City BNN.
Both officials were sworn in by the Head of Aceh BNNP, Police Brigadier General Dr. Dedy Tabrani, S.I.K., M.Si., during a ceremony held in Banda Aceh on Tuesday (Sep 29).
Dedy Tabrani emphasized that the positions entrusted to the two newly appointed officers are a significant mandate and responsibility to protect the public from the threat of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
He urged both new BNN district chiefs to immediately conduct internal consolidation and establish communication and coordination with local governments, regional leadership forums (Forkopimda), and all elements of society.
Early coordination is essential to ensure that P4GN (Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics) strategies are accurately targeted. BNN must remain present in the community, and prevention efforts need to be further strengthened.
Most importantly, Dedy stated, the eradication of illicit drug trafficking networks must be carried out firmly and systematically, while empowering the community to build resilience against narcotics threats.
Dedy noted that Banda Aceh and Langsa hold strategic positions in the implementation of P4GN in Aceh. Therefore, tackling drug issues cannot fall solely on BNN; local governments, the military, the police, religious scholars, community leaders, educational institutions, the business sector, and the general public all play crucial roles in reinforcing prevention and curbing illicit drug trade.
“P4GN must operate comprehensively, encompassing prevention, enforcement, rehabilitation, and the development of community resilience against drug abuse,” Dedy concluded. (*)
