Aceh – Indonesia, The Indonesian National Police’s Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) anti-terror squad arrested eleven terrorism suspects across six provinces starting Friday (10/2/2026). The six provinces are West Java, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Riau, and North Maluku.

“The suspects are alleged to have links to networks affiliated with the Daulah Islamiyah ideology, as well as other terrorism networks,” said Densus 88 Spokesperson Senior Commissioner Mayndra Eka Wardhana in a statement on Sunday (10/4/2026).

The eleven detained suspects are identified by their initials HN (43), SM alias NM (52), HA (45), YDKAP (22), Y (36), S (49), A (32), CG (29), MF (37), AF (26), and MW (42).

The suspects held various roles, ranging from network consolidation, training activities, propaganda dissemination, and recruitment both directly and through social media, to involvement in conspiracies to commit acts of terrorism.

Following the arrests, Densus 88 conducted a series of investigative measures, including searches, the seizure and examination of evidence, as well as interrogating witnesses and suspects.

Mayndra revealed that preliminary investigation results indicate inter-regional connections among the suspects, particularly through online meetings for indoctrination, network consolidation, and cadre training activities.

“One of the patterns discovered was the organizing of online meetings connecting a number of Daulah Islamiyah supporters from several regions virtually,” he revealed.

In addition, authorities uncovered suspected training activities involving several suspects, including physical training, shooting practice, and other training activities related to militant terrorism activities.

Regarding the possibility of other networks, Mayndra stated that the investigation process is still ongoing.

“Investigators will further examine the evidence found as well as the connections of each suspect with other individuals or networks,” he said.

“This law enforcement action is part of the Police’s efforts to conduct early detection and prevention of potential terrorist acts, including preventing processes of consolidation, propaganda, recruitment, training, or skill enhancements that could develop into violent acts,” said Senior Commissioner Mayndra.(*)
