Roby, owner of Paris Gold Shop located behind the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh, stated that local gold prices remain relatively stable, although they continue to follow global market trends.

“The price has been hovering around Rp7.5 million per mayam over the last two months. That excludes the manufacturing fee,” Roby said on Friday (10/9/2026).

According to Roby, global gold price movements are among the factors influencing local rates. Consequently, gold prices still have the potential to fluctuate depending on market conditions.

Based on records by Waspadaaceh.com, gold prices in Banda Aceh previously peaked at Rp10 million per mayam on January 29, 2026. Meanwhile, observations from July through September 2026 show that prices have hovered around Rp7.5 million per mayam.

As for gold bars, prices also vary depending on the type and brand. Members of the public looking to purchase gold are advised to check the latest rates at shops prior to making transactions.

In addition to the base gold price, buyers must factor in the jewelry crafting fee. For those looking to resell their gold, the buyback price may differ from the price of new jewelry. (*)
