Aceh – Indonesia, Banda Aceh (Waspada Aceh) – The People’s Conscience Party (Hanura) is accelerating the consolidation of its party structure in Aceh in preparation for the 2029 Legislative Election. The organizational restructuring is targeted for completion down to the sub-district level by the end of October 2026.

The consolidation took place at the Hermes Hotel Banda Aceh on Monday (5/10/2026) and is part of Hanura’s national consolidation roadshow across 38 provinces.

Deputy General Chairman of the DPP and Chairman of the Hanura Party DPP Task Force, Patrice Rio Capella, stated that Aceh is the 20th province visited in this consolidation series. Following Aceh, the Task Force is scheduled to continue its agenda to Riau as the 21st province.

According to Rio, the Task Force visited the region directly to assess organizational conditions while gauging the readiness of local administrators to complete the party structure down to the sub-district level.

“This Task Force visit to Aceh is part of a national consolidation across 38 provinces. The Task Force’s job is to directly inspect the situation in Aceh,” Rio said.

During the visit, the team met with Hanura leaders from across Aceh along with 21 regional parliamentary (DPRK) members from seven regencies.

Rio mentioned that structural restructuring is a major focus because evaluation of the party’s performance over the past five years revealed incomplete management boards and unstable structures in several areas.

“If this party is to grow bigger in the 2029 Election, then 2026 is the time for us to evaluate past leadership. Whatever is weak must be fixed,” he said.

He noted that the improvements cover not only the organizational structure but also human resource development and strengthening cadre capacity at every level.

Hanura targets to finalize its nationwide consolidation by early 2027. Overall, approximately 7,300 sub-districts and 514 regencies/cities serve as targets for structural strengthening.

“This is not just for political party verification, but to prepare the party’s political machine to compete in the 2029 Election,” he added.

Specifically for Aceh, Rio expressed hope that all sub-district management boards would be fully formed by late October 2026.

He believes Hanura’s condition in Aceh can still be revamped since there is sufficient time ahead of the 2029 election preparation phase.

“We feel Aceh is still on track. There is a slight delay, but it can be managed. There is enough time to fix Hanura’s management structure in Aceh,” Rio stated.

One challenge Hanura faces is the lack of parliamentary representation in many regencies and cities.

Out of 23 regencies/cities in Aceh, Hanura holds 21 local parliamentary seats originating from only seven regencies. Thus, 16 regencies/cities currently have no Hanura seats.

Therefore, consolidation efforts are also aimed at reviving party structures in regions lacking legislative representation.

“The engine might have stalled or gone dormant in those sub-districts. They must reactivate it and recruit new board members,” he said.

In addition to board formation, sub-district structures will be equipped with administrative necessities, including opening bank accounts under the party’s name and installing signboards for local offices (DPC and PAC).

The Hanura Central Executive Board (DPP) has also prepared financial support to assist the consolidation process. “The total funding is 205 million,” Rio said.

Legislative Candidate Recruitment Begins in 2027

Following organizational restructuring, Hanura will begin screening potential legislative candidates in 2027.

Rio stated that early candidate recruitment ensures the party has adequate time to prepare candidates in every electoral district.

“Preparation for the 2029 Election does not start six months prior, but begins today by building a healthier political machine with stronger determination and muscle for the 2029 fight,” he explained.

He added that the recruited candidates are expected to be fully prepared to compete in their respective electoral districts.

For Aceh, Hanura targets winning seats in the national parliament (DPR RI), where the province has two electoral districts. Rio noted that the party aims to secure at least one seat from Aceh in Senayan.

“There are two electoral districts here, and we target sending our best cadre from Aceh to Senayan from at least one district,” he said.

Meanwhile, local Hanura administrators in Aceh expressed a higher internal target of securing four DPR RI seats in the 2029 Election based on internal mapping.

“Our target for DPR RI is four seats, as mapped out by the DPP,” said an Aceh Hanura official.

Rio emphasized that the consolidation in Aceh is not an isolated agenda. The Task Force is carrying out similar programs across all provinces, tailoring its approach to local conditions.

“Regardless of Hanura’s varying conditions in each province, we adjust our treatment. The Task Force comes down directly to inspect party structures in every province,” he said.

Chairman of the Hanura Aceh Regional Board (DPD), Aswin Surya, stated that the consolidation serves as momentum to strengthen the organization ahead of the 2029 General Election.

According to him, around 75 percent of the 23 Hanura branch executive boards (DPC) in Aceh need reorganization based on evaluations from the previous election.

“Out of 23 DPC branches in Aceh, nearly 75 percent require reorganization,” Aswin said.

In addition to district branches, Hanura Aceh continues to complete structures down to the sub-district level (PAC). Currently, 290 PACs have received official decree letters (SK), while others remain in process.

Aswin aims to fully establish all Hanura PACs in Aceh by October 2026.

“We urge DPCs that have not completed their PAC structures to finish them immediately. Our target is 100 percent completion this month,” he said.

He acknowledged that the path toward the 2029 Election poses significant challenges, particularly given the competition between national and local political parties in Aceh. However, Hanura remains committed to overcoming these hurdles by strengthening its organization and consolidating grass-roots cadres. (*)
