Aceh – Indonesia, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin have qualified for the men’s doubles badminton final at the 2026 Asian Games. In the semifinal held at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium, Japan, on Monday (28/9/2026) morning WIB, Leo/Daniel secured a convincing victory with scores of 21-11 and 21-14.
In Tuesday’s final (29/9/2026), Leo/Daniel will face the winner of the other semifinal match between Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang (China) and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri (Indonesia). If Fajar/Fikri advance, it will set up an all-Indonesian final in the men’s doubles event.
As the first game kicked off, Leo/Daniel took the initiative to attack immediately. They put Kim/Seo under heavy pressure, building an early 6-2 lead.
This stellar performance allowed Leo/Daniel to maintain an 11-7 advantage at the first-game interval. They kept up the intensity and did not relent after the break.
Leo/Daniel ultimately claimed the first game thanks to their impressive play and consistency, winning the opening game 21-11.
Leo/Daniel’s dominance continued into the second game. They got off to a commanding start, taking a swift 6-0 lead over Kim/Seo.
Their momentum remained unbroken as they reached the second-game interval leading 11-5. Even after the mid-game break, Leo/Daniel showed no signs of slowing down their dominance over Kim/Seo.
Leo/Daniel successfully left Kim/Seo with few answers, comfortably securing their spot in the final by wrapping up the second game 21-14.
