Aceh – Indonesia, Peukan Bada Sub-district Secretary (Sekcam), Rusydi S Ag, MPd, alongside the Head of Lamteh Village (Keuchik), Mahzar, featured as speakers on RRI Pro-4 Banda Aceh’s Siereuboh program. The talk show carried the theme “Revitalizing Local Culture Through Mangrove Ecotourism” at the RRI Studio on Monday, September 28, 2026.
The program served as a discussion forum to explore the potential of mangrove ecotourism as an effort to safeguard the environment while reviving the culture and local wisdom of coastal communities.
During the dialogue, the Peukan Bada Sub-district Secretary highlighted the importance of collaboration among the central, provincial, regency, sub-district, and village governments, local communities, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), and various stakeholders in developing the mangrove area sustainably.
The Sub-district Secretary, who is also a cultural advocate, shared how the local community maintains a traditional culture of environmental preservation through mangrove planting.
Furthermore, Rusydi explained that Peukan Bada Sub-district holds immense development potential across various sectors, including agriculture, plantations, marine resources, fisheries, industry, trade, tourism, and education.
Therefore, Rusydi called on all parties to extend their support toward creating a more prosperous Peukan Bada Sub-district in the future.
Meanwhile, Lamteh Village Head Mahzar detailed the village’s potential in developing mangrove ecotourism, emphasizing community involvement in preserving environmental sustainability and upholding local cultural values.
Mahzar expressed his gratitude to the Environment and Forestry Office (DLHK) of Aceh for facilitating mangrove planting in Lamteh village, as well as to other supporting organizations.
He also voiced his appreciation to the Aceh Jaya Mangrove Institute (AMI) and RRI Pro-4 for hosting and inviting them to the event.
“The development of mangrove ecotourism is expected not only to serve as a tourist attraction, but also to deliver economic benefits to the community without overlooking environmental conservation and cultural sustainability,” he stated.
Through RRI Pro-4 Banda Aceh’s Siereuboh program, these various local potentials are expected to gain wider public recognition while fostering community participation in protecting the environment and preserving Acehnese culture.[rao]
