Aceh – Indonesia, The Association of Marriage Registrars of the Republic of Indonesia (APRI) Aceh Province held its 2nd Regional Work Conference (Rakerwil II) at the Madinatul Zahra Hotel, Banda Aceh, on Saturday (10/3/2026).
Chairman of the Rakerwil II APRI Aceh Committee, H Yusti, stated that the event served as a crucial momentum to evaluate and formulate more targeted organizational work programs.
According to him, APRI is a professional organization representing marriage registrars (penghulu), which needs continuous guidance and development, particularly in carrying out religious duties and delivering optimal public services.
“This professional organization overseeing marriage registrars must continue to be nurtured and developed. We aim to provide quality services to the community, including supporting the building of harmonious families (sakinah),” said H Yusti.
He expressed hope that the 2nd Regional Work Conference would yield an effective evaluation as well as focused and practically executable work programs.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Aceh APRI Regional Board, H Fadli, expressed his appreciation for the attendance of the Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kakanwil Kemenag), H Azhari, at the event.
“We extend our gratitude to the Head of the Regional Office for attending. His presence serves as motivation for us in executing APRI’s future work programs,” he said.
H Fadli hoped that the various inputs provided during the conference could serve as material to strengthen the organization and enhance the professionalism of marriage registrars in Aceh.
He noted that the discussions held during Rakerwil II should not merely remain as debates, but should be realized through concrete work programs.
In the meantime, Head of the Aceh Kemenag Regional Office, H Azhari, invited all members of APRI Aceh to foster togetherness and unite in completing the various planned work programs.
According to him, APRI is not just an ordinary professional organization; it carries a great responsibility because marriage registrars are entrusted with executing religious service functions for the community.
“APRI is no ordinary organization. It is more than just a profession because a trust has been bestowed upon us. Each member has functions and responsibilities that must be properly carried out,” said H Azhari.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of marriage registrars in facing modern developments, including through the revitalization and digitalization of services.
“Revitalisation and digitalization can run smoothly with the active role of marriage registrars. Therefore, registrars must continuously improve their skills and adapt to community needs,” he added.
H Azhari also commended the various activities conducted by APRI Aceh in building synergy. In his view, evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of each program is an essential part of making future improvements.
He stressed that the success of an organization is not solely determined by budget support, but also requires the willingness, unity, and commitment of the chairman and all board members.
“Togetherness is a necessity. A program can succeed not only because of money, but also due to the willingness of the leader and all administrators to work together,” Azhari concluded. (rus)
