Aceh – Indonesia, The Ministry of Religious Affairs is conducting field verifications for mosques and prayer rooms (musalas) affected by floods in East Aceh Regency that have been proposed to receive post-disaster construction and rehabilitation assistance.
Head of the East Aceh Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kakankemenag), Saiful Bahri, SPdI, MPd, along with staff from the Islamic Community Guidance (Bimas Islam) division of the Aceh Ministry of Religious Affairs, directly inspected three mosques in East Aceh on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
A total of 57 mosques in East Aceh are slated to receive post-disaster construction and rehabilitation assistance for mosques and musalas from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance.
The three mosques inspected during the activity were the Nurul Yaqin Mosque in Gampong Gurep Blang, the Darul Falah Mosque in Meunasah Krueng Village, and the Sirajul Huda Mosque in Blang Kuta Village.
Field verification will continue the following day until all recipient mosques have been fully inspected.
Saiful Bahri stated that direct site visits are necessary to ensure that the distributed aid aligns with the actual condition and specific needs of each disaster-affected mosque.
βWe want to ensure that the condition of every flood-affected mosque is directly assessed in the field. This way, the construction and rehabilitation aid provided can be executed according to actual needs and established regulations,β Saiful Bahri said.
According to him, this assistance reflects the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ commitment to sustaining the function of houses of worship affected by natural disasters. With this aid, the community is expected to resume their religious activities comfortably.
The distribution of aid is linked to a cooperation agreement between the Commitment-Making Officer (PPK) of the Directorate of Islamic Religious Affairs and Sharia Guidance, Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the mosque management committees as aid recipients.
Staff member of Bimas Islam at the East Aceh Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, M. Dahlan, confirmed that the 57 mosques are part of the first phase of post-flood disaster relief proposals.
βThe data for these 57 mosques comes from the files submitted in the first phase of post-flood proposals. Therefore, field inspections are conducted to verify the condition and needs of each mosque before the assistance process is carried out,β M. Dahlan explained.
Field verifications are being conducted to strengthen data collection while ensuring that post-disaster construction and rehabilitation aid for mosques and musalas is distributed in compliance with regulations.
The East Aceh Ministry of Religious Affairs Office will continue inspecting all recipient mosques until the verification process at every location is completed.
