NUKILAN.ID | TAKENGON – Heavy rainfall soaking Central Aceh Regency since Saturday afternoon (26/09/2026) triggered floods and landslides across five districts.

According to a report from the Central Aceh BPBD Emergency Operations Center (Pusdalops PB) as of 10:50 PM WIB, the disasters struck Kebayakan, Pegasing, Atu Lintang, Rusip Antara, and Linge districts.

In Kebayakan District, a landslide blocked a section of the Lake Ring Road in Mendale Village. Landslide debris also caused siltation in several rivers.

Meanwhile, flooding submerged six villages in Pegasing District, namely Kedelah, Ie Relop, Sukadamai, Paya Jeget, Wih Nareh, and Uring. The flood occurred after rivers and drainage systems failed to accommodate the high water volume.

Flooding also inundated Kekelip Village in Atu Lintang District. Standing water submerged a school and residents’ houses, as well as disrupting road access.

In Rusip Antara District, soil debris and rocks carried by the current blocked the Takengon-Pameu national road.

Meanwhile, in Reje Payung Village, Linge District, strong river currents swept away a suspension bridge recently built by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

Central Aceh BPBD has carried out response efforts in Mendale Village by deploying one excavator unit and one loader unit to clear landslide debris and dredge sediment.

Operations in several other locations continued on Sunday (27/09/2026) as the rain persisted. Nighttime operations were deemed too risky for field personnel.

Until the report was received, the Central Aceh BPBD was still monitoring a number of areas affected by the floods and landslides.
