Aceh – Indonesia, The Mawlid Nabi Muhammad SAW commemoration held by the Mualem-Dek Fadh Command Post in Lambhuk Village, Ulee Kareng District, Banda Aceh, served not only as a moment to honor the birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, but was also highlighted by social outreach through donations given to orphans.

The Grand Mawlid, which took place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, was attended by Acting Regional Secretary of Aceh Taufik, the Head of the Aceh Social Services, Assistant I to the Aceh Regional Secretary, several heads of Aceh Regional Work Units (SKPA), religious leaders, community figures, volunteers, and local residents.

A number of orphans were specially invited to the event. They received donations as a gesture of care and a shared effort to spread happiness during the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad SAW’s birthday.

Chairman of the Grand Mawlid Committee, Nasruddin, also known as Nyak Din Gajah, stated that hosting the orphans and distributing donations were central components of the event.

“We want this Mawlid to be more than just an occasion to recite prayers and commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW; it is also an opportunity to give back to orphans. This is part of our commitment to emulate the care and compassion taught by the Prophet,” said Nyak Din.

According to him, the donations are expected to bring joy to the children while strengthening the spirit of social compassion across the community.

“We hope these donations prove beneficial and bring blessings. Most importantly, we want these children to feel cared for and share in the joy of the Mawlid atmosphere,” he added.

Beyond being a religious and social event, the Mawlid observance is also seen as a moment of reflection to translate the exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad SAW into governance and regional development in Aceh.

Values such as siddiq (honesty), amanah (trustworthiness), tabligh (conveying the truth), and fathanah (intelligence and wisdom) serve as moral foundations for leading the government.

Within the framework of the Mualem-Dek Fadh administration, these values can be applied through high-integrity public services, policies oriented toward public welfare, transparency in governance, and decision-making that prioritizes the people’s interests.

Thus, Mawlid is viewed not merely as an annual religious tradition, but as an opportunity to reflect on how the moral virtues of the Prophet Muhammad SAW can be integrated into social life and public administration.

Across various government activities this year, the Mawlid commemoration in Aceh emphasizes emulating the Prophet’s character while reinforcing social concern for those in need.

Nyak Din expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported the Grand Mawlid, including the Aceh Provincial Government, heads of SKPA, community leaders, volunteers, and attending citizens.

The event featured collective prayer recitations, religious sermons, joint supplications, and a traditional Mawlid feast. The public and invited guests mingled closely with the children in a warm atmosphere.

Nyak Din expressed hope that the gathering would help preserve the Mawlid tradition in Aceh while fostering community empathy and a spirit of sharing.

“Mawlid teaches us not only to remember the Prophet Muhammad SAW, but also to follow his character—one way being to care for those in need, including orphans,” Nyak Din concluded.***
