Aceh – Indonesia, Upon returning from receiving medical treatment in Penang, Malaysia, the Guardian of Aceh (Wali Nanggroe Aceh), His Highness Tgk. Malik Mahmud Al Haythar, was welcomed by the Shura Council of the Wali Nanggroe Institution, the Katibul Wali, and the structural officials of the Wali Nanggroe Secretariat at Meuligoe Wali Nanggroe on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
During the occasion, the Wali Nanggroe attended a traditional peusijuek (blessing) ceremony led by the Chairman of the Aceh Customary Institution (MAA), Prof. Dr. Drs. Yusri Yusuf, M.Pd., along with the Chairman of the Tuha Peuet Council of the Wali Nanggroe Institution, Tgk. H. Azhari Alatif (Abati Seulimum), and the Chairman of the Fatwa Council, Tgk. Ir. H. Muhammad Isa Musa.
Head of Public Relations and Cooperation at the Wali Nanggroe Secretariat, Zulfikar Idris, stated that the peusijuek ceremony served as an expression of gratitude for the recovery and return of the Wali Nanggroe, while also serving as a moment to reinforce commitment toward preserving Acehnese customs and culture.
The Wali Nanggroe expressed his emotional gratitude during the event, noting that the traditional peusijuek reminded him of Acehnese heritage and customs from the past.
“This peusijuek ceremony deeply moves me. It reminds me of the Acehnese traditions of the past. Therefore, let us preserve these customs and traditions so they remain a legacy for future generations,” said the Wali Nanggroe.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of MAA Aceh, Prof. Dr. Drs. Yusri Yusuf, M.Pd., conveyed that the peusijuek was a manifestation of gratitude to Allah SWT for granting good health to the Wali Nanggroe, allowing him to safely return to Aceh and gather once again at Meuligoe Wali Nanggroe.
“Alhamdulillah, today’s event is our expression of gratitude to Allah SWT for the health granted to His Highness Wali Nanggroe, enabling his return to our homeland and to Meuligoe,” said Yusri Yusuf.
He added that this gratitude was embodied through the peusijuek ceremony as part of ongoing efforts to maintain and safeguard Acehnese tradition and culture.
Furthermore, he noted that the ceremony received a warm reception from the Wali Nanggroe, who expressed happiness and gratitude for the shared dedication to preserving Acehnese customs.
“This falls under the duties and responsibilities of His Highness Wali Nanggroe. I believe he feels very glad, thankful, and happy because we are all committed to preserving our traditions and culture,” Yusri added.[rao]
