Aceh – Indonesia, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded that Aceh experienced an inflation rate of 0.36 percent in September 2026 compared to the previous month. The price increase was primarily driven by the food, beverage, and tobacco group.
Several commodities contributing to the monthly inflation included red chili, broiler chicken, green chili, tuna, and watermelon.
This was announced by the Head of the BPS Aceh Provincial Office, Agus Andria, during a press conference at the BPS Aceh Office on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
“Several commodities influenced the monthly inflation, namely red chili, broiler chicken, green chili, tuna, and watermelon,” said Agus.
Aceh’s Annual Inflation Reaches 5.03 Percent
Based on monitoring results by BPS Aceh across five regencies/cities—namely Central Aceh, Meulaboh, Aceh Tamiang, Banda Aceh, and Lhokseumawe—Aceh’s inflation in September 2026 was recorded at 0.36 percent month-to-month (m-to-m).
The increase was reflected in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which rose from 116.20 in August 2026 to 116.62 in September 2026.
“Furthermore, on a year-on-year (y-on-y) basis, Aceh Province experienced an inflation rate of 5.03 percent in September 2026,” Agus stated.
He explained that the food, beverage, and tobacco group was the largest contributor to inflation. On a monthly basis, this group experienced an inflation rate of 0.78 percent, contributing 0.30 percent to the overall figure.
Meanwhile, on an annual basis, the same group saw an inflation rate of 5.02 percent, contributing 1.92 percent to Aceh’s total inflation.
For monthly inflation, the dominant contributing commodities were red chili, broiler chicken, green chili, tuna, and watermelon.
On an annual basis, the most influential commodities on Aceh’s inflation were rice, rice with side dishes, gold jewelry, gasoline, and broiler chicken.
“In September 2026, annual inflation occurred across all inflation calculation regions. The highest annual inflation was recorded in Central Aceh Regency at 5.86 percent, while the lowest was in Meulaboh at 3.61 percent,” Agus added.
Aceh Farmers’ Terms of Trade Rises 0.90 Percent
In addition to inflation developments, BPS Aceh noted that the Farmers’ Terms of Trade (NTP) in September 2026 reached 129.21, reflecting a 0.90 percent increase compared to August 2026.
“The Price Index Received by Farmers (It) in September 2026 stood at 163.15, up 1.10 percent from the previous month,” said Agus.
The rise in the Price Index Received by Farmers was mainly influenced by coffee, corn, and palm oil commodities.
Meanwhile, the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) was recorded at 126.27, representing a 0.19 percent increase compared to August 2026.
“The main commodities contributing to the increase in the Price Index Paid by Farmers were red chili, rice, and broiler chicken,” he concluded.
