Aceh – Indonesia, The Nagan Raya Regency Government has secured an additional budget allocation of IDR 3.573 billion from the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) to support the development and recovery of several flood-affected villages (gampong).

The funds are allocated for the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure as well as community empowerment programs. These include village roads, bridges, early childhood education (PAUD) buildings, village markets, waste management facilities, and food security programs.

Head of the Nagan Raya Regency Office for Village Community Empowerment, Population Control, and Women’s Empowerment (DPMGP4), Said Mudhar, M.Pd., MM, stated that this assistance follows up on a proposal submitted by the regency government to the central government to aid in the recovery of disaster-hit villages.

โ€œThe assistance funds are designated for villages affected by the flood disaster,โ€ Said Mudhar said on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

The aid covers eight villages across three districts: four villages in Beutong District, three in Darul Makmur District, and one in Tripa Makmur District.

According to Said, the proposal was initiated following instructions from the Regent of Nagan Raya, Dr. Teuku Raja Keumangan, S.H., directing DPMGP4 to maintain intensive communication with Kemendes PDT to accelerate the recovery of flood-damaged villages.

โ€œAlhamdulillah, thanks to solid cooperation among the Regional Secretary as coordinator, DPMGP4, relevant regional offices, P3MD, sub-district heads, sub-district assistants, village heads (keuchik), and village assistants, we prepared all necessary documents and proposals to be submitted to the Ministry,โ€ Said noted.

He explained that after the proposal was submitted, a team from Kemendes PDT conducted direct field assessments to perform factual verification regarding the condition and needs of the proposed villages.

A similar verification process had previously been carried out by Kemendes PDT across several areas in Nagan Raya. In July 2026, the ministry’s team conducted data synchronization and verification of village conditions affected by hydrometeorological disasters to establish the foundation for rehabilitation and reconstruction programs.

Cooperation Agreement Signed in Jakarta

Said Mudhar mentioned that the disbursement process has now entered the signing phase of the cooperation agreement between the recipient village governments and the ministry.

The Head of DPMGP4, alongside the village heads of the recipient areas, signed the cooperation agreement with Kemendes PDT at the Hall of the Ministry’s Directorate of Facilities and Infrastructure in Jakarta during a series of activities held from September 30 to October 1, 2026.

He urged the recipient village heads to utilize the funds in strict accordance with the technical guidelines and prevailing laws and regulations.

โ€œWe request the village heads to use the aid funds from the Ministry of Villages according to the technical guidelines and applicable laws. Implement it promptly so that the benefits can be directly felt by the community to improve the welfare of village residents,โ€ he said.

Regency Government Prepares Proposals for Other Villages

Said added that the Nagan Raya Regency Government is currently preparing proposal materials for village development programs aimed at other areas to be submitted to Kemendes PDT.

This initiative ensures that other villages in Nagan Raya Regency requiring infrastructure support can also receive attention through central government programs.

โ€œWe are currently preparing development proposal materials to be submitted to the Ministry of Villages for other villages in Nagan Raya Regency,โ€ he stated.

In addition, DPMGP4 has proposed a construction program for village head offices in several villages across Nagan Raya Regency to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

According to Said, this proposal is expected to enhance the quality of village governance facilities, allowing public services to run more effectively.

โ€œWe have also submitted a proposal for the construction of village head offices in Nagan Raya Regency to the Ministry of Home Affairs so that public services in the villages can function more optimally,โ€ Said Mudhar concluded. []
