Aceh – Indonesia, Banda Aceh (Waspada Aceh) โ Bank Indonesia (BI) Aceh Representative Office targets transaction values exceeding IDR 5 billion at the 2026 Meuseuraya Festival. The festival combines MSME exhibitions, business matching, and the promotion of Aceh’s cultural heritage.
The 2026 Meuseuraya Festival will be held on October 22-25, 2026, at Balee Meuseuraya Aceh, Banda Aceh. The event carries the theme “Meukarya, Warisan Indatu, Berkarya dan Melestarikan” (Creating, Ancestral Heritage, Producing, and Preserving).
Head of the BI Aceh Representative Office, Agus Chusaini, stated that the target stems from bazaar and expo turnovers as well as business matching activities.
โOur target is over IDR 5 billion from turnover and business matching,โ Agus said during a Media Talk in Banda Aceh on Monday (10/5/2026).
The festival is also projected to attract over 20,000 visitors. A total of 140 expo and bazaar booths will be set up, involving approximately 1,200 participants.
According to Agus, business matching serves as one of the main agendas to open market access for Acehnese MSME products by connecting business owners directly with prospective buyers.
โWe want to open new market access through business matching while stimulating employment, especially for the younger generation,โ he stated.
In addition to economic activities, the Meuseuraya Festival highlights the preservation of Acehnese cultural heritage. Various traditional textile products (wastra)โsuch as Acehnese embroidery, handwoven fabrics, and songketโwill be featured through the Textile Gathering and the Wastra Indatu showcase.
The festival will also feature a traditional textile fashion show, craft exhibitions, cultural arts performances, rapai drum competitions, ratoh jaroe dance contests, and Meuseuraya Idol.
BI Aceh has also integrated post-disaster economic strengthening programs alongside the development of the agricultural and MSME sectors into the festival.
Several potential buyers will be matched with local Acehnese MSME entrepreneurs and agricultural producers. This agenda aims to strengthen the product value chain from upstream to downstream.
โOur focus is strengthening the value chain from upstream to downstream so that Acehnese MSME and agricultural products can enter broader markets,โ Agus said.
The Meuseuraya Festival will additionally feature workshops, seminars, and thematic talk shows. To address inflation control, the event includes the Inflation Kitchen Contest and the Grand Inflation Feast (Kenduri Rayeuk Inflasi).
Agus mentioned that the event involves the government, the banking sector, business actors, ministries, agencies, and local communities.
โWe are bringing everyone together to contribute to the Meuseuraya event. The ultimate goal is mutual cooperation (gotong royong),โ he added.
With this comprehensive lineup, the 2026 Meuseuraya Festival is expected to become a gathering space for the public, MSME entrepreneurs, buyers, and various stakeholders while introducing Acehnese products and culture to a wider audience.
The festival is open to the public and will run for four days at Balee Meuseuraya Aceh. (*)
