Aceh – Indonesia, POPULARITAS.COM – Russian President Vladimir Putin told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday (8/10) that Moscow is prepared to do everything in its power to help Tehran resolve the regional conflict.

During a meeting with the Iranian leader in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, Putin stated that Iran has taken concrete steps to end the conflict and submitted new proposals toward a peaceful settlement, according to the Kremlin.

Russia-Iran relations have developed positively under a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement signed in early 2025, Putin noted, adding that bilateral trade grew by more than 21 percent last year, with the growth trend continuing into the first seven months of this year.

Exchanges in the humanitarian field are also actively ongoing, he added.

Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude to Putin for Russia’s support and said that ties between the two nations continue to expand across trade, economic, and humanitarian sectors.

Both sides possess the political will to further develop relations under their strategic partnership agreement, he added.

While criticizing the United States for pursuing unilateralism, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran seeks to end the war as soon as possible while ensuring its rights are fully respected.

Iran has exchanged initiatives with the US and revised US proposals, he said, noting that both sides will continue discussions through mediators once these initiatives are finalized.
