Aceh – Indonesia, GOVERNOR of Aceh, Muzakir Manaf, also known as Mualem, needs to ensure that the investigation into Abdullah, who was relieved of his duties as Aceh Inspector on September 9, 2026, proceeds without disruption. Even the slightest interference could impact the outcome of the probe.

The investigation will focus on the administrative procedures surrounding his appointment as Assistant Inspector within the Aceh Inspectorate in 2018. Abdullah was inaugurated as Assistant Inspector on September 14, 2018. However, the decree appointing Abdullah to the functional position was only issued about two months later, on November 27, 2018.

This indicates that he assumed the position and was sworn in before holding a valid functional decree for the role. Consequently, his inauguration is suspected of being administratively flawed regarding personnel procedures.

Mualem himself has formed an investigative team to handle Abdullah’s alleged disciplinary violations. The team consists of the Regional Secretary of Aceh and several Aceh Government officials in charge of staffing and oversight.

Therefore, it is crucial for Mualem to guarantee that the team works thoroughly to investigate the alleged violations, including keeping the team free from intervention. It is not impossible that attempts will be made to prevent Abdullah’s alleged violations from spreading further.

The Acting Regional Secretary of Aceh, Taufik, serving as the head of the investigative team, needs to closely supervise the ongoing process against Abdullah. He must close all loopholes to ensure the investigation remains unbiased and that evidence of Abdullah’s alleged violations is not blown away.

Those suspected of wrongdoing will look for ways to escape punishment, perhaps through personal connections or by involving individuals who knew of and approved the violation. What is clear is that they need a lifebuoy so they do not sink alone.***
