Aceh – Indonesia, Floods submerged several residential homes in Alue Bata Village, Tadu Raya District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, following heavy rainfall that hit the region on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Tadu Raya Sub-district Head, Teuku Khalilullah, stated that the flooding occurred after heavy downpours caused the Tadu River to overflow. Floodwaters subsequently inundated residential areas and several road sections.

“Our area is indeed flood-prone. Traffic on the national highway was briefly disrupted last night due to the rising water volume,” Khalilullah told Bithe.co on Sunday (10/4/2026).

According to him, access to the national highway that was previously disrupted became passable again around 01:00 AM WIB.

Khalilullah added that there were no casualties or significant damage caused by the flood. However, water had entered a number of residents’ houses.

Observations by Bithe.co in Alue Bata Village on Sunday (10/4/2026) showed that water remained stagnant in several spots. Parts of the road were still inundated, including the area in front of the mosque and the Kopdes building.

Several residents were seen starting to clean their homes from flood debris. Soaked clothes and belongings were laid out to dry, while household furniture was washed clean of water and mud.

Khalilullah mentioned that residents are currently still cleaning their respective homes following the flood that occurred the previous night.
