Aceh – Indonesia, Becoming a female leader requires more than just intellectual intelligence. The ability to manage emotions, build self-confidence, communicate effectively, and possess a strong character are essential assets for taking on greater roles in society.
This idea became a core focus of the Women Empowerment Hub Batch 1 program, which was attended by 38 young women in Banda Aceh. Initiated by Ammar Academy, an organization under the Oman Al-Makmur Youth Mosque program, the four-week event ran from September 27 to October 18, 2026.
The sessions took place every Sunday afternoon at the Oman Al-Makmur Syariah Hotel in Banda Aceh.
Jihan Latifa, Chairwoman of the Women Empowerment Hub committee, explained that the program was designed as a capacity-building platform for young women to recognize and foster their personal potential, cultivate a leadership mindset, and confidently express their ideas in an effective and polite manner.
โWe designed this program as a growth space for future women leaders to develop self-confidence, emotional intelligence, and practical skills tailored to modern challenges,โ Jihan said.
She added that the courage to keep learning and believing in one’s abilities is key for women looking to step into larger roles within both social and professional spheres.
One of the key sessions, titled Communication Skills for Future Women Leaders, was delivered by Syaifullah Muhammad on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Syaifullah emphasized that robust leadership isn’t built solely on analytical thinking. Leaders are also expected to exhibit creativity, passion, and conscience when making decisions and interacting with others.
During his presentation, he outlined six principles of Qur’anic communication: qaulan sadidan (truthful words), qaulan balighan (effective communication), qaulan layinan (gentle speech), qaulan kariman (noble words), qaulan maโrufan (good speech), and qaulan maysuran (easy-to-understand speech).
These principles, he noted, should complement professional communication techniques. These include structuring data-driven arguments, delivering academic presentations, and mastering nonverbal cues such as eye contact, gestures, facial expressions, and vocal tone.
โFuture female leaders are not just those who excel intellectually and analytically, but those who can blend sharp thinking with genuine sincerity and gentleness in every action,โ Syaifullah remarked.
Beyond communication and leadership, the program covered character development and spiritual empowerment for women through an Islamic perspective.
This material was presented by Kamisah, who highlighted the role and character of Muslim women, encouraging them to thrive and assume roles across various sectors without losing their Islamic identity.
Meanwhile, Jihan Latifa led a personal empowerment session that centered on self-development, self-acceptance, and mental resilience.
Participants were encouraged to become lifelong learners, embrace new challenges, overcome self-doubt, and cultivate inner confidence.
The training sessions were delivered interactively through lectures, academic presentations, group discussions, role-playing simulations, and public speaking practice.
Through the Women Empowerment Hub Batch 1, Ammar Academy aims for its 38 participants to gain not only leadership knowledge, but also to reinforce their Islamic character, build self-confidence, and hone skills essential for contributing across diverse social and professional environments.***
