Aceh – Indonesia, A group of illegal Israeli settlers set fire to two houses belonging to a Palestinian family in Jalud, south of Nablus, early Tuesday (29/9/2026).

This barbaric act took place just hours after the family returned home following nearly two months of displacement due to forced expulsion.

The family had previously fled their home in July after facing months of repeated harassment and attacks by illegal settlers.

The official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that a large group of settlers entered the village shortly after the family’s return and set both houses ablaze, causing severe damage to the structures and their contents.

Residents attempted to confront the attackers before Israeli occupation forces arrived at the scene. Local sources told WAFA that instead of stopping the settlers, the forces provided them with protection and deployed reinforcements to the area. The family was ultimately forced to flee once again under gunpoint.

Al Mayadeen reported that Jalud and neighboring villages south of Nablus frequently face settler attacks, land seizures, as well as property and crop destruction. For this family, Tuesday’s arson attack abruptly cut short their return home after only a few hours.

Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Mughrabi Gate on Tuesday morning under Israeli police escort.

This incursions occurred on the fourth day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles.

According to QNN, settlers performed religious rituals and prayers inside the compound, accompanied by chanting and clapping.

A day earlier, 1,731 settlers entered Al-Aqsa under the protection of Israeli police, while roads leading to the Old City and the mosque were closed to facilitate their movement.

Palestinian sources noted that Israeli ministers Yisrael Katz and Itamar Ben-Gvir were among those who entered the compound on Monday.

Earlier on Sunday (27/9/2026), around 1,500 settlers entered Al-Aqsa, with several carrying plant offerings into the mosque courtyards.

This series of incursions was accompanied by tighter restrictions on Palestinian residents. Israeli occupation forces closed major roads and routes surrounding the Old City and restricted movement near Al-Aqsa while securing access for the settler groups.

Illegal settlers also attacked Jerusalemites near the Damascus Gate—known in Arabic as Bab al-Amoud—early Tuesday morning. Video footage circulated by Quds News Network showed dozens of settlers engaging in the attack, while Israeli security personnel were deployed at the scene.

Security forces closed several roads and pathways around the Old City during the settlers’ movement. These closures created additional obstacles for residents attempting to access one of the main entry points to Jerusalem, amid ongoing holiday celebrations in the surrounding area.(*)
