Aceh – Indonesia, The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has once again rotated and reassigned 88 high-ranking officers (Pati) and mid-ranking officers (Pamen). These structural changes were officialized in National Police Chief Telegram Letter Number ST/2205/X/KEP./2026, dated October 2, 2026.
This initial major shuffle under the leadership of National Police Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto targets a range of strategic positions, both within National Police Headquarters and regional police commands across the country.
Head of the Public Relations Division of Polri, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that the reshuffle is an integral part of organizational development and personnel career progression. According to him, this step ensures the continuity of police operations while breathing fresh air into the institution.
“Personnel reshuffles and rotations are standard dynamics within the Polri organization. This is carried out in line with organizational needs, as well as career development and refreshment in executing policing duties,” Johnny said in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday (3/10/2026).
Out of the total 88 personnel affected by the reassignment, 70 officers received promotions or were appointed to new roles. Key leadership positions at the National Police Headquarters level were also restructured.
Within the High-Ranking Officials (PJU) lineup at National Police HQ, 14 officers received new assignments. Among them is Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri, S.I.K., M.Si., appointed as Inspector General of General Affairs (Irwasum Polri); Inspector General Dedy Kusuma Bakti, S.I.K., M.T.C.P., as Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Kabaintelkam Polri); Inspector General Asep Safrudin, S.I.K., M.H., as Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim Polri); and Inspector General Dr. Hery Herjawan, S.I.K., M.H., M.Hum., as Head of the Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam Polri).
Furthermore, Inspector General Dr. Rudi Darmoko, S.I.K., M.Si., was appointed as Head of the Education and Training Institute (Kalemdiklat Polri). Meanwhile, Inspector General Dr. Andik Setiyono, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., assumes the role of Assistant to the Police Chief for Planning and Budgeting (Astamarena), Brigadier General Agus Dwi Hermawan, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kn., as Assistant for Logistics (Aslog), and Brigadier General Deni Dharmapala, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., as Assistant for Human Resources (As SDM).
Restructuring also took place across several other key posts. Inspector General Dr. Mahmud Nazly Harahap, S.I.K., M.H., M.M., was named Head of the Internal Affairs Division (Kadivpropam Polri); Inspector General Roberto G. M. Pasaribu, S.I.K., M.Si., as Head of the ICT Division; Brigadier General Tubagus Ami Prindani, S.I.K., M.Si., as Head of the Densus 88 Anti-Terror Squad; and Inspector General Dr. Ahrie Sonta N., M.Si., M.PICT., as Head of the Legal Division (Kadivkum Polri).
Additionally, Inspector General Arie Ardian Rishadi, S.I.K., M.Si., was entrusted to lead the Anti-Corruption Corps (Kakortastipidkor Polri), while Senior Commissioner Didik Hariyanto, S.I.K., M.Si., was assigned as Head of the Police Chief’s Personal Staff Corps (Koorspripim Polri).
Rotation of 19 Regional Police Chief positions across Indonesia
Regarding regional commands, key names appointed to lead regional police forces (Kapolda) include Jakarta Metro Regional Police Chief Inspector General Prof. Dr. Dadang Hartanto, S.I.K., S.H., M.Si.; Maluku Police Chief Inspector General Suwondo Nainggolan, S.I.K., M.H.; Riau Islands Police Chief Inspector General Suhendri, S.H., S.I.K., M.PSDM.; Riau Police Chief Inspector General Arman Achdiat, S.I.K., M.Si.; East Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Inspector General Reza Arief Dewanto, S.I.K.; and West Java Police Chief Inspector General Hengki, S.I.K., M.H.
Additionally, Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, S.I.K., M.M., M.H., was assigned as Banten Police Chief; Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., as Central Java Police Chief; Inspector General Dekananto Eko Purwono, S.I.K., M.H., as East Java Police Chief; Brigadier General Dr. Pasma Royce, S.I.K., M.H., as Bali Police Chief; and Inspector General Drs. Jawari, S.H., M.H., as West Sumatra Police Chief.
The South Sulawesi Police leadership was handed to Inspector General Dr. M. Awal Chairuddin, S.I.K., M.H. Meanwhile, the Jambi Police Chief post is now held by Inspector General Drs. Widodo, S.H., M.H., and the Gorontalo Police Chief position by Inspector General Nurworo Danang, S.I.K.
Other regional command rotations feature Brigadier General Sonny Irawan, S.I.K., M.H., as North Sumatra Police Chief; Brigadier General Rony Samtana, S.I.K., M.T.C.P., as South Sumatra Police Chief; Inspector General Rizal Irawan, S.I.K., M.H., as Central Sulawesi Police Chief; Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, S.I.K., M.Hum., as West Sulawesi Police Chief; and Inspector General Langgeng Purnomo, S.I.K., M.H., as Yogyakarta Police Chief.
In addition to officer rotations and promotions, the Police Telegram also authorized rank promotions for 21 officers, along with structural position adjustments for several other high and mid-ranking personnel.
Johnny expressed hope that officers assuming new responsibilities will swiftly adapt to their duties and continue existing programs within their respective operational units.
“Every officer entrusted with a new role is expected to carry out their duties to the best of their abilities, advance ongoing initiatives, and deliver optimal policing services to the public,” he concluded.(*)
