Aceh – Indonesia, Head of the Regional Command Post for the Post-Disaster Management and Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force (Satgas PRR) for Aceh, Safrizal ZA, handed over fire fighting equipment assistance to the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government on Thursday (10/8/2026).
The aid consists of one fire truck unit with a 2,000-liter capacity and five portable pumps. The handover took place at the Aceh Tamiang Regent’s Office complex and was received directly by the Regent of Aceh Tamiang.
Safrizal stated that the assistance was entrusted by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian to bolster Aceh Tamiang’s fire fighting facilities that were affected by recent flooding.
βWe are delivering the Minister’s gift of one fire truck unit to replace the one damaged by the flood, along with five portable pump units,β Safrizal said.
According to Safrizal, the additional equipment is expected not only to replace damaged units but also to strengthen Aceh Tamiang’s preparedness in handling various emergency situations, especially as the regency is currently undergoing post-disaster recovery.
βThis aid is also expected to strengthen the preparedness of Aceh Tamiang, which is now starting to rebuild, and serve as a source of strength for the regency in serving the community,β Safrizal added.
He emphasized that adequate fire fighting facilities are vital to ensure the local government can provide a rapid response when the public faces fires or other emergency situations.
The Regent of Aceh Tamiang expressed appreciation for the central government’s continuous support in providing aid to the region. He noted that the additional vehicle and equipment were urgently needed after one of Aceh Tamiang’s fire trucks was destroyed in the flood.
βMy gratitude goes to President Prabowo, Home Minister Tito Karnavian, and Director General Safrizal for the assistance provided once again. During the recent flood, our fire truck was ruined. With this assistance, we will make the best use of it to serve the public,β the Regent of Aceh Tamiang said.
The handover is part of the government’s support to strengthen regional capacity post-disaster while ensuring basic public services continue to run smoothly. The fire truck and five portable pumps are expected to be deployed immediately to support emergency readiness and speed up field responses.
For Aceh Tamiang, the additional equipment serves as a vital asset to continue rebuilding after the flood while enhancing regional resilience against potential disasters and emergency situations in the future. (rus)
