Analisaaceh.com, Banda Aceh | Two students with the initials FM (13) and RKF (15) have been detained by the Motor Vehicle Theft Operational Team of the Banda Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit in connection with the alleged theft of motorcycles in two different locations.
The two were apprehended by police on Friday (25/9/2026) at around 01:20 WIB after officers received information from the public and conducted an investigation into motor vehicle theft cases.
Banda Aceh Police Chief Senior Commissioner Teguh Priyambodo Nugroho, speaking through Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Commissioner Miftahuda Dizha Fezuono, stated that during the operation, police also secured two motorcycles suspected to be tied to the theft cases.
“The two suspects have been secured along with evidence to undergo further investigation,” said Commissioner Dizha based on an official case disclosure statement, Saturday (26/9/2026).
The two secured vehicles were a Yamaha Mio Soul and a Honda Supra.
Dizha explained that the case was uncovered after police received information regarding the alleged motorcycle theft committed by the two teenagers in the Geuce Meunara and Banda Raya areas.
Officers then carried out an investigation and went to FM’s residence. During preliminary questioning, FM reportedly admitted to his involvement in the motorcycle theft alongside RKF.
Police subsequently proceeded to RKF’s house and took him into custody. In the initial interrogation, RKF also admitted to his involvement with FM.
Following further interrogation, police gathered information that the Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle, suspected to be stolen property, was being kept at a resident’s house in Gampong Garot, Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar Regency.
Officers then visited the location and secured the motorcycle in question.
Meanwhile, the Honda Supra motorcycle was reported to have been sold to a scrap warehouse for IDR 700,000.
Both vehicles were then brought to the Banda Aceh Police Headquarters to be used as evidence in the legal investigation process.
The case disclosure pertains to two police reports received by the Banda Aceh Police department.
One of the reports was filed by Firdaus (51), a resident of Jalan Krueng Tripa, Banda Raya District, on July 13, 2026, at the Banda Raya Police Station.
In the report, Firdaus reported the loss of a blue 2008 Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle with license plate number BL 6588 JE.
The motorcycle was discovered missing on July 13, 2026, at approximately 05:30 WIB while the victim was attending congregational Dawn (Fajr) prayers at a mosque in Gampong Geuceu Kayee Jato, Banda Raya District.
After finishing prayers, the victim discovered that his motorcycle was no longer at its original parking spot. After searching the surrounding area, the vehicle could not be found.
Financial losses resulting from the incident are estimated at IDR 6 million.
Meanwhile, another report relates to alleged motor vehicle theft within the legal jurisdiction of the Jaya Baru Police Station. The report is registered under Number LP/B/7/IX/2026/SPKT/Sek Jaya Baru/Polresta Banda Aceh/Polda Aceh, dated September 5, 2026.
Since both suspects are minors, the Banda Aceh Police stated they will coordinate with the Correctional Center (Bapas), social workers, and relevant institutions during the case handling process.
Investigators will also coordinate with public prosecutors regarding subsequent legal proceedings.
Currently, the case is still being handled by the Banda Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit. The investigation process is being conducted in compliance with applicable legal provisions regarding minors in conflict with the law.
