Aceh – Indonesia, The Children’s Legal Aid Foundation (YBHA) Peutuah Mandiri provided legal outreach regarding the dangers of bullying and juvenile criminal law to students at SMK Negeri 1 Nagan Raya on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The activity was conducted as part of an effort to provide students with an understanding of the impacts of bullying and the legal consequences that can arise from actions harmful to children.

Chairman of YBHA Peutuah Mandiri, Ahhadda, stated that his team was present to fulfill an invitation from the Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Nagan Raya to deliver legal education to the students.

According to Ahhadda, the event was also linked to directives issued during a Zoom meeting between the Head of the Aceh Education Office and school principals across Aceh regarding the implementation of legal counseling on bullying in school environments.

“So we received a direct invitation from the Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Nagan Raya. He is also a friend of mine here, so we immediately came down to Nagan Raya,” said Ahhadda.

He mentioned that the issue of bullying has become a serious concern after several bullying cases in Banda Aceh recently gained public attention, including widespread national focus.

According to him, schools are also encouraged to step up bullying prevention efforts, including through the appointment of bullying ambassadors within the school environment.

Students Educated on the Impacts of Bullying

During the counseling session, YBHA Peutuah Mandiri explained to students the dangers of bullying, its impacts on both victims and perpetrators, and how acts of bullying are viewed under the Indonesian legal system.

The presentation was delivered using several learning methods to help participants easily comprehend the material provided.

The YBHA team also incorporated ice breaking activities during the session so that the learning atmosphere did not feel rigid and students could engage with the material more actively.

Ahhadda emphasized that understanding bullying is essential for students so they can recognize various forms of bullying and comprehend its impacts on the school environment.

In addition to providing education, YBHA Peutuah Mandiri West Aceh expressed its readiness to continue building partnerships with schools and various stakeholders to discuss issues related to the protection of women and children.

“YBHA Peutuah Mandiri is ready to partner and engage in discussions with anyone regarding children’s and women’s issues,” Ahhadda concluded. []
