BPS Records Highest Inflation in West Aceh During 2026 Occurred in February

Aceh – Indonesia, Throughout 2026, the highest inflation rate or price increase for basic necessities in Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency, occurred in February, reaching 6.83 percent.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Aceh Regency regarding Consumer Price Index (CPI) developments in Meulaboh for September 2026, accessed by bithe.co on Friday (9/2/2026), year-on-year inflation stood at 3.61 percent.

The inflation rate in Meulaboh stood at 5.55 percent in January 2026 before peaking at 6.83 percent in February, marking the highest rate this year. It then dropped to 4.95 percent in March and further declined to 3.14 percent in April.

Inflation in Meulaboh moved to 3.99 percent in May, dropped to 3.89 percent in June, and continued down to 3.50 percent in July. It rose again to 3.85 percent in August before dropping to 3.61 percent in September.

Looking at the year-on-year inflation rate in Meulaboh from September 2025 to September 2026, there was a decrease from 4.63 percent in September 2025 to 3.61 percent in September 2026.

Several primary commodities contributed to the year-on-year inflation in Meulaboh, including rice with side dishes, gold, gasoline, rice, and vehicle maintenance or service fees. The highest contributor to inflation was rice with side dishes at 0.42 percent.

Meanwhile, the main commodities contributing to month-to-month deflation in Meulaboh were mackerel, tomatoes, cooking oil, oranges, and scaled fish, with mackerel being the top deflationary contributor at 0.15 percent.
