Aceh – Indonesia, Nazir Adam has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) Aceh branch for the 2026β2030 period, securing 33 votes at the Ordinary Elective Congress of PSSI Aceh in Sigli, Pidie Regency, on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Nazir secured 33 votes out of a total of 40 eligible voters. Meanwhile, the remaining seven voters were absent from the congress, which was attended by representatives from Regency Associations (Askab), City Associations (Askot), and football clubs across Aceh.
Following his re-election, Nazir described the entrusted mandate as a major responsibility. He called on all Aceh football stakeholders to unite and collaborate in facing various challenges to advance regional football.
βThe mandate given to me is indeed very heavy. I hope we can row together; please do not leave me to walk alone,β Nazir said.
He emphasized that the struggle to develop Aceh football is just beginning after the congress. Therefore, he urged all football elements to join hands and maintain togetherness in running the organization over the next four years.
On the other hand, Nazir urged the central PSSI to respect the congress results and follow up in accordance with the organization’s statutes. He expressed hope that differing opinions during the election process would not escalate into conflict that damages the spirit of brotherhood among Aceh’s football community.
βFootball is brotherhood, football is family. We hope the central PSSI will not take actions that could cause us to fight here simply due to differences of opinion,β he stated.
Nazir stressed that all organizational processes must proceed based on the statutes, rather than specific interests or unfounded interventions. According to him, adherence to the statutes serves as a crucial foundation for maintaining unity and the sustainability of football development in Aceh.
He also requested that central PSSI immediately follow up on the congress outcomes according to established mechanisms to prevent prolonged polemics. Nazir reminded everyone that differing views must be resolved through official organizational channels without sacrificing relationships among clubs and football stakeholders in Aceh.
βWe do not want Aceh football to be destroyed over this issue. Every process has its rules in the statutes, including how to determine who is right and who is wrong,β he said.
Nazir hopes all parties can respond to the congress results objectively. He also noted that the statutes provide further mechanisms for relevant parties should the congress results not be processed according to organizational provisions.
He expressed hope that his renewed leadership would receive full support from all elements of Aceh football, enabling them to tackle future challenges together and drive the continuous growth of football in Aceh.***
