Aceh – Indonesia, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) is gradually restoring electricity supply to customers across six sub-districts in South Aceh Regency following the collapse of a Medium Voltage Air Line (SUTM) pole caused by soil erosion in the Ladang Rimba area, Central Trumon Sub-district.

The incident temporarily disrupted 125 distribution transformers. The six sub-districts affected by the blackout include Trumon, Central Trumon, East Trumon, Bakongan, East Bakongan, and Kota Bahagia.

Manager of PLN Subulussalam Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3), Yandrison, stated that technical personnel from PLN UP3 Subulussalam and the Kota Fajar Customer Service Unit (ULP) have been deployed to the site along with heavy equipment and replacement materials. Restoration work is being conducted day and night to reconfigure the pole structure and secure the cable network.

“As of Saturday (3/10/2026) morning, normalization progress has shown significant results. Of the 125 transformers affected, only 7 remain under repair. The outage now affects only about 250 customers in Ladang Rimba Village,” Yandrison explained in a written statement on Saturday.

Yandrison added that the safety of local residents and time efficiency in restoration remain the field team’s top priorities. Supporting materials have been fully staged at the disruption point so that the remaining work can be completed safely and promptly.

During the restoration process, PLN urges the public to access the PLN Mobile application or contact Call Center 123. These services can be used to monitor real-time network repair progress and report potential electrical hazards near their homes.(rao)
