Aceh – Indonesia, Two civil servants (ASN) within the Public Order Agency and Sharia Police (Satpol PP and WH) of Southeast Aceh Regency have been hit with disciplinary sanctions after residents raided a boarding house in Muara Lawe Bulan Village, Babussalam District, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at around 03:00 WIB.
The two individuals, identified by their initials R and AG, were found to have entered into an unregistered marriage (nikah siri) a few days prior to the incident. Head of Southeast Aceh Satpol PP, Ramisin, stated that the sanctions were imposed following an investigation and a code of ethics hearing conducted on September 29, 2026.
R is a civil servant (PNS) serving as a section head (kasi) within the Southeast Aceh Satpol PP. Meanwhile, AG holds the status of a full-time contract-based government worker (PPPK) serving in the Sharia Police (WH) division.
βAG and R conducted an unregistered marriage on September 20, 2026, in Kebun Sere Village, Semadam District, Southeast Aceh,β Ramisin confirmed at his office on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
According to Ramisin, information regarding the unregistered marriage came to light through written statements submitted by both parties during the interrogation process.
Authorities also summoned AG’s lawful wife to seek clarification regarding her consent to the marriage. Based on the statement obtained, AG’s lawful wife admitted to having granted permission before the unregistered marriage ceremony took place.
βAG’s lawful wife granted permission for her husband to remarry, and she has raised no objections or claims regarding this matter,β Ramisin said.
He added that the families involved raised no issues over the matter. However, according to Ramisin, this condition does not erase the violations of the code of ethics and conduct that serve as the basis for imposing sanctions on both civil servants.
βRegarding this matter, neither side raised any objections. Therefore, we took action to impose civil service sanctions on AG and R,β he emphasized.
Ramisin explained that based on the results of the investigation and the official investigation report (BAP) prepared by the civil servant investigators (PPNS) of Southeast Aceh Satpol PP, WH, and Linmas, both individuals were found guilty of violating the code of ethics and conduct.
The violation, he stated, relates to alleged immoral acts referencing Aceh Qanun No. 6 of 2014 concerning Islamic Criminal Law (Hukum Jinayat), specifically Article 25 paragraph (1) regarding ikhtilath (inappropriate physical proximity between non-mahram men and women).
For these violations, R was handed a severe disciplinary sanction in the form of a transfer involving a demotion to a position one level lower and removal from the currently held position.
βR received a severe disciplinary category sanction under Government Regulation No. 53 of 2010 Article 7 number 4, specifically a transfer with a demotion to a lower level position and removal from office,β Ramisin revealed.
Meanwhile, AG was issued a sanction in the form of a First Warning Letter (SP1).
Ramisin emphasized that the imposition of these sanctions represents the local government’s follow-up action regarding violations committed by personnel within its ranks.
He affirmed that disciplinary enforcement is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and applies to any employee proven to have committed a violation.
Previously, residents visited a boarding house in Muara Lawe Bulan Village, Babussalam District, in the early hours of Thursday, September 24, 2026. Upon checking the premises, residents discovered R and AG inside the house.
Their presence together at the location subsequently drew public attention, leading the Southeast Aceh Satpol PP to follow up on the matter.***
